Leadership in Question

In today’s organization and businesses, certain leaders’ leadership ability seems to be in question. Let’s look at Prime Time, the great Deion Sanders. He has changed the dynamic of Colorado University on and around the campus grounds. Colorado University last season was a 1-11 team in their conference and is currently sitting humbly at a 4-3 record. Deion Sanders has elevated the Buffalos from a sub-average team to the most talked about high-profile team in America. So, why is his leadership in question? Deion Sanders or as we know “Prime Time” leadership ability should not be in question! If you review his personal stats as a college player at Florida State University and in the National Football League, it speaks for itself.

Deion Sander’s career at Jackson State as a Head Football coach was 27-6 from (2020-2022). However, years before that Jackson State was (4-8) in 2019, 2018 (5-5), and 2017 (3-8). Once Dieon Sander arrived in 2020 the Tigers were 4-3 which was a short season due to COVID-19. Moving on to 2021 (11-2), and 2022 they were (12-1).

Leadership is a challenging, rewarding, demanding, and difficult job, and not everyone can produce results such as Prime Time continues to produce. Yes, sometimes we must say things to our teammates and subordinates to motivate them but how we say things to get the point across is crucial. It can sometimes be a double-edged sword if words are not chosen correctly.  Lastly, it is always easy to point out other failures and not our own. So, who are we to judge? So, I tell Prime Time and his team “Keep pushing, don’t stop, won’t stop until the end!” So, hats off to Coach Prime and his team who have changed the dynamics at Colorado University and across America.
