Losing a Loved One

Losing a loved one changes everything. One moment, they’re there laughing, talking, living and the next, there’s a silence that settles in and never quite lifts. Grief creeps in quietly, sometimes roaring like a storm, other times whispering in quiet moments when you least expect it. The world keeps moving, but for you, time seems to slow down, tangled in memories and unanswered questions.

You begin to replay everything final conversations, shared moments, things left unsaid. Their absence echoes in places you once shared together, in songs that once made you smile, in smells that trigger a wave of memories so vivid it feels like they’re still right there. There’s no right way to grieve, no perfect formula for healing. Some days you feel okay, and others you feel like you’re falling apart. That’s the nature of love it doesn’t just disappear when someone’s gone.

But in time, the sharp edges of grief soften. You start to carry their memory with more grace than pain. You learn to honor them by living in a way that reflects the love they gave you. They never really leave; they become part of who you are, woven into your spirit. And while the loss never fully disappears, neither does the love. That stays with you. Always.

I dedicate this post to my father Ervin Jerome Moore who passed away March 27, 2006 and buried March 31, 2006. You made me into the successful man I am today. I Love you and miss you Pop!
