At the beginning of life, it starts off as a journey which then turns into a race. The race of achievement and accomplishment that we expect to have a lifetime to accomplish. This is why it becomes a race because we do not have a lifetime and during that race, we come across many obstacles that hinder us from accomplishing our achievements. Some of these obstacles are challenges in life, shortfalls, and setbacks.
Some challenges can be people and the timing of certain situations. One great example is the working environment. When there is a new employee or leader who begins a new position, we can all be reassured there is some sort of nervousness. Some people have different types of nervousness which can be identified as afraid of failing, trying to please everyone, or as we know, that yes individual to impress, and the major one of all, trying to fit in and be the cool kid on the block.
However, you have those who we call haters or jealous ones! These are the people who want to be you, be in your position, live the type of life you are living, and will throw every obstacle in your path so you may fail. These are narcissistic people who will play the victim, lie, cheat, know it all, and most importantly blame everyone for being wrong but they are always right in every situation. These are the people who provide shortfalls, challenges in life, and setbacks to those who endure to the end. I am sure we all know a narcissist who will do everything in their power to provide discomfort for those trying to make it to the finish line.
Lastly, all who endure to finish the race, continue to run your race and be aware of the narcissistic people. How do you deal with people of this nature? Simply, document everything they do, be aware of people’s actions around you, and watch people’s actions and words. There will be a red flag that will identify these people but most importantly continue to stay focused across the finish line and have the pleasure of watching their failure be your success.
