Life Changes

Life is full of surprises and sometimes we only deal with the cards we are dealt with. Over the course of our life, there are various situations we are involved in and left with no other course of action except one and that one is the only option at the time.

We have certain people in our life that influence us rather it is a positive or a negative influence. These individuals make a certain impact in our life. It is like the old saying “you can’t teach an old dog new tricks!” Is this true or false?

In my experience, yes you can teach an old dog new tricks but stubbornness is what hold us back from life changes. When we discuss stubbornness we are discussing refusal to change and accepting who we are without change. Stubbornness is not always a negative element for an individual’s character.

However, when growing up within in the inner city with poverty, drugs and high crime rate are present and there is a certain life style at a young age an individual is exposed of which is drugs or the life of crime. We are also exposed to choices in life to not head down that path. Through personal experience of coming from a city of such conditions, certain situations weren’t so forthcoming at times.

Experiences in life regardless either positive or negative are life changers. Over the course of my travels through-out the four corners of the earth, I have meet some great people. A great example of meeting great people are two of my closest friends are now beginning their Doctorate and PhD journey which both comes from an inner city of high crime rate and drugs. When certain people meet with common goals, certain values and a related background, it may be a positive or a negative for those individuals but in this case, it turnout to be a positive influence for all three of us and a change in our lives.
